The Plymouth Beer Festival

This summer we’ve already featured beer festivals from Copenhagen and Prague to Montreal, and UK based beer lovers will be happy to hear that one is coming right to their doorstep, with the return of the two day Plymouth Beer Festival, held at Plymouth Pavilions, this weekend, July 13-14 2012.

The two day Plymouth Beer Festival, in association with CAMRA, is back again. Now in its ninth year, with over 100 real ales and the largest selection of cider and perry anywhere in the South West, it promises to be the place to be for beer lovers!

As well as hundreds of real ales and ciders on offer, there’ll also be an international beer bar allowing you to experience a whole new world of beer. Music will be provided by local lad Luke Dumper. 25 year old Luke, was born in Plymouth but lived in Scotland through childhood which gave his vocals a Scottish twang, before moving back to Plymouth in 2000. Performing in local venues including Fortesque, Junction, Voodoo Lounge and Jack Chams, Luke has been performing his Folk music across the South West and the UK. on Friday evening, and living legend Bob Geldof will be in concert on Saturday evening!

Free soft drinks will be available for designated drivers and visitors will be invited to leave any unused beer tokens or donate cash to the festivals’ charity, Breast Cancer Care.

Event organiser, Martin Brown from Plymouth CAMRA said: “The festival’s popularity just gets bigger and bigger. Last year we witnessed over 3,000 visitors, consuming 15,000 pints of real ale which is a lot of beer!! This year with the increase of ciders, addition of a Foreign Beer Bar and of course the legendary Bob Geldof playing, we hope to welcome even more customers.
Friday – £5 ticket all day
Saturday – £5 ticket gives the holder entry to the Arena before 6pm and allows access to the evening show if you’re already in the Arena
Saturday – £10/£12 ticket gives entry to the Arena after 6pm
