The Latest in Gross-Out Food; Deep Fried Cereal
Here at Guestaurant we’re no stranger to embracing the weird and wonderful dishes that we encounter on a daily basis.
However one of these dishes has really taken the biscuit this week, if you excuse my truly awful foodie pun there.
Feast your eyes (again pardon the pun) on deep-fried cereal.
With a choice of either ‘Trix’ or ‘Cinnamon Toast Crunch’, the delicacy is tossed in the fryer and served with a bit of syrup and cereal garnish.
Its creator, Charlie Boghosian, found fame last year at the San Diego County Fair with his homemade delicacy ‘deep-fried Kool-Aid balls’.
The balls proved a surprise hit, with Boghosian claiming that he shifted over 1.1 million of them last year alone. So when he made his return to the fair this year expectations were high.
The deep-fried cereal however has not gone down as well as last year’s concoction, with critic one labelling the dish ‘disappointing’ and that ‘it didn’t leave as much as an impression as last years items.’
Still, if high-calorie cereal is right up your street, maybe this is the food for you.
