According to a French study, in the consumer magazine “60 millions de consummateurs” many colas contain traces of alcohol, this is around half of all colas, including Pepsi, Coca-cola and Coke Zero.

Commonly known during the food-making process alcohol is produced. Alcohol is already produced in many natural products, in the process of fermenting fruit.

Since the research has been released the discovery has caused concern for consumers who chose the carbonated soft drinks due to religious or health and safety reasons. Consumers feel they have a right to know what is in the food and drinks that they ingest.

Positive news is that you would have to consume thousands of cans to get drunk. Though colas contain alcohol, the study found, showed that beverages include “less than 10mg of ethanol per litre, or 0.001 percent.”
