Mondial de la Biere Festival 2012
Montreal is known to be a city filled with festivities all year long, especially during the summer. And one of the festivals that give’s the head start to an awesome hot season is no other than the Montreal Beerfest.
Founded in 1994, this event started as a modest get together of beer connoisseurs. Now at its 19th edition, the Montreal Beerfest is not only attracting the beer connoisseurs, but also beer amateurs and neophytes from the city and all around the world that are eager to try and learn about over 700 products, including around 300 new beers.
It’s little brother, the Mondial de la bière EUROPE, was born in 2009.The two festivals’ mission is to reinstate beer’s noble status by offering foreign and local visitors the opportunity to taste a wide variety of quality beers.
2012 honoured the products from Argentina, Brazil and the state of Michigan while showcasing 637 beers from 191 breweries with 31 from Quebec. The ‘beertrotters’ could munch on yummy bites such as the delicious cheese from Quebec, artisanal bread, sausages to keep them going through the event. Impressively, festival goers were also able to rate and comment their discoveries via the official mobile app.
