A truly Tuscan experience in the heart of Cambridge – Saucepan & Suitcase Secret Suppers

This is the first article for a social & food experience in Cambridge – and it was definitely worth it! This was an incredible Tuscan secret supper at Saucepan&Suitcase Secret Suppers – a truly Italian feast.

Before the night started, Francesca – the chef – described the details of each dish in this video:

The evening beautifully started for the 6 lucky guests eating Crostini with Fegatini di Pollo and with Lardo di Colonnata – result of the nice work from Francesca and her husband Russell, the sous chef.

For those who were very hungry, there were two additional Tuscan starters: Grissoni with Purea di Ceci, decorated with rosemary, and the very typical Fried Sage – accompanied by the right Italian Prosecco.

The first main – Primo – was a speciality from Tuscany: handmade (by the chef!) Pappardelle with Wild Boar sauce. The second main course: Barley Timballini with onions and orange, and Arista di Maiale (roast pork) in a secret sauce made with lardo, orange and a taste of chocolate.

In the meanwhile the guests chatted about their interests, stories and ideas, and finally the dinner came to an end with the Pinolata made from pine nuts – recipe is a secret of Francesca’s mum -and Vinsanto.

Thanks for the wonderful night, Francesca and Russell!
